To the Valley and Beyond

This summer, why not check out Alaska's famous Matanuska-Susitna Valley?

 

Enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the valley's Pioneer Peak and farmlands and go for a sled-dog ride at the Iditarod's Headquarters!

 

After lunch in the cute town of Palmer, visit the Musk Ox Farm and enjoy seeing these awesome animals before stretching your legs with a hike to the Matanuska Glacier and finishing off the day with a beautiful drive back to Anchorage.

8:30 am: Pick up at your home location by Alaska English Adventures staff. 

Warm greetings for the day and a review of the plan for the tour.

8:30 am to 9:30 am: Drive to Iditarod Sled Dog Headquarters in Wasilla.

9:30 to 11:30 am: Take a tour of Iditarod Headquarters, go for a sled dog ride

11:30 to 12:15: Lunch

12:15 to 1:00 pm: Drive to Palmer

1:00 to 3:30 pm: Visit Musk Ox Farm

3:30 to 4:00 pm: Drive to Matanuska Glacier

4:00 to 5:45 pm: Hike and tour of the glacier

5:45 to 7:30 pm: Return drive to Anchorage and drop off at your home location

26 Glaciers and World War II History in Alaska

History buff or not, this is the tour for you!

Did you know that Alaska had a crucial role during WWII? You'll learn more about it on this incredible tour. We'll take you to the gorgeous coastal town of Whittier and guide you on a boat tour of stunning glaciers. Be astonished by up-close visits from whales, sea otters, seals, sea lions, puffins, bald eagles, and more! Polish off the day with a fascinating history lesson at Alaska's Prince William Sound Museum.

With stunning scenery, wildlife, and a unique perspective on Alaska's history, this tour has something for everyone!

8:30 am: Pickup at your home location by Alaska English Adventures staff

9:00am: Beluga Point for scenic photos

9:00 to 10:30 am: Drive to Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, the longest drivable tunnel in North America, leading to the community of Whittier.

11:00 to 12:30 pm: Prepare for 26 Glaciers Cruise with Phillips Cruises and Tours

12:30 to 6:30 pm: Stand in awe of these 26 massive rivers of ice against the towering mountains of the Chugach National Forest. Enjoy up-close visits from sea otters, whales, sea lions, seals, sea birds, and more! End the tour with a delicious cup of homemade locally caught seafood chowder aboard the boat. This is often the highlight of everyone’s Alaska vacation! Be sure to bring your camera!

6:30 to 7:15 pm: Visit the Prince William Sound Museum and learn about the intimate history of Whittier and the Aleutian Islands in World War II. Learn the personal and up-close story of the Alaska Native Aleut people who were put into a Prisoner of War camp during WWII after their island was overtaken by the enemy.  This capturing of American soil was one of only two times that American land has been possessed by an enemy army.  And your Tour Guide is a part of this Alaskan family!

7:30 to 9:00 pm: Return drive to Anchorage and drop off at your home location.

Nordic Spa and Wildlife

Alyeska Nordic Spa and Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center Relaxation Tour

Travel can be exhausting, so why not pair the adventure with a little pampering and relaxation?

Enjoy a scenic drive to Girdwood where you'll find Alyeska Ski Resort and its world-class Nordic Spa.

Take a soothing soak and relax! 

After lunch, we'll drive you to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where you can see grizzly and black bears in the largest enclosed bear habitat in North America, moose, caribou, red foxes, lynx, bald eagles, and more!


This relaxing day tour will recharge you so that you can fully enjoy the rest of your Alaskan Aventure!

8:15 to 9:15 am: Scenic drive along Seward Highway to Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, possible stop at Beluga Point for photos

9:30 to 12:30 pm: Soothing soak, optional massage (extra cost), and amazing relaxation at world-class Alyeska Nordic Spa 

12:30 to 1:30 pm: Lunch

1:30 to 2:00 pm: Drive to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

2:00 to 4:30 pm: Up close and intimate visit with all the best of the Last Great Frontier:

Grizzly bears, black bears, moose, caribou, American red squirrel, porcupines, wood bison, wolves, reindeer, muskox, lynx, great-horned owl, fox, elk, deer, coyote, and bald eagles.

4:30 to 5:30 pm: return drive to Anchorage and drop off at your home location.
