Our Vision
Alaska English Adventures (AEA) offers a unique opportunity for English language learners to experience Alaska. This is language immersion with a difference.
At AEA our programs take the Alaskan experience to the next level with the inclusion of daily conversational English lessons with multiple opportunities to practice real language with native English speakers.
Our adventure tours take participants on a journey of discovery through the pristine wilderness that defines Alaska to hand-picked sites that showcase the awesome beauty and rich culture of the Last Great Wilderness.
Camping, hiking, sport fishing, gold panning, whitewater rafting, zip lining, ocean cruising, wildlife viewing, campfire enjoying, and ocean kayaking are a few of the adventures you will enjoy as we tour Alaska’s scenic highways to destinations like Denali National Park, Seward, and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
At AEA our mission is to educate and inspire, and in that spirit we are committed to cultural exchange and understanding. We pledge to donate a portion of our annual profits to charities that develop relationships between Alaska and international communities.
We are the only language immersion tour company in Alaska.
Brad was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, USA and grew up exploring the mountains, rivers, and lakes of the Gem state. Brad has a bachelor of arts degree from Boise State University and focused on community organizing in his studies.
He first moved to Alaska in 2000 and has since worked within the AK tourism industry, human services, and teaching ESL in Fairbanks, Galena, Nenana, and Anchorage.
Brad has over 5 years experience teaching English as a Second Language in Icheon City and Bundang, South Korea, Australia, Idaho, Colorado, and Alaska. His students came from South Korea, Iraq, Bosnia, Mexico, Vietnam, Chile, El Salvador, China, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
Meet Emily – Your 2023 English Teacher
Emily is pursuing an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of other languages at the University of Pittsburgh and has over 5 years of experience teaching a diverse group of learners.
She taught English for 3 years in South Korea at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. After that, she spent a year with AmeriCorps teaching English to immigrants and refugees at both a very low level and a high-intermediate level where she helped with curriculum design in addition to her teaching duties.
She currently works with an outdoor education organization and designs and implements lessons for children and adults about a variety of environmental topics — from gardening to kayaking! She is excited to be your teacher and experience all that Alaska has to share together.
